For one to be able to access databases, one has to get connected online, because that is the basis upon which the linkages to the databases are set.

Advantages of Electronic Resources

  • The resources will never be on loan and could be read at any place, at any time and anywhere
  • Access is provided to more comprehensive sets of journals than those available on shelves
  • Costs of technical services,  of tracking the arrival of journal issues, and periodical binding will be eliminated
  • The need for additional library space would decline
  • Costs of retrieving and reshelving materials will be reduced
